Best known for Little Debbie® snack cakes, America's leading snack cake brand, Sunbelt Bakery® Granola products, and Drake's Cakes®, McKee Foods Corporation is seeking a Part Time Aircraft Technician/ Cleaner, to join our Corporate Aviation Department. This is an entry level maintenance position that will initially focus on cleaning and stocking the aircraft, and will evolve into increasing levels of technician duties as proficiency is demonstrated. Schedule
Sunday - Friday, 20 hours or more per week required. Flexible hours normally in the mornings or afternoons/evenings based on flight schedule and maintenance requirements.
Job Summary
The Aircraft Technician will be responsible for the following:
- Assist with and perform the following under direct supervision: Inspections, Trouble shooting, Routine and heavy maintenance, Light duty maintenance (tire changes/light bulbs/misc.)
- Launch and recover aircraft
- Perform pre and post flight inspections
- Facilitate passenger and cargo loading/unloading
- Oversee towing and fueling operations
- Clean aircraft exterior and interior
- Ensure the protection of McKee assets when in the care of contract staff
- Stock supplies, including snacks and beverages, on aircraft
- Assist in cleaning Aviation facilities and equipment
- Clean and ferry McKee fleet vehicles
Required Qualifications
- Have a valid FAA Airframe &/or Power Plant Rating Certificate or equivalent military experience
- One year of related experience
- High school diploma or GED
- Familiarity with mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
- Knowledge of compliance and recordkeeping required by Federal Aviation Regulations
- Ability to work flexible hours and to travel when needed. Travel will be required during inspections and training.
- Basic Computer and iPad/tablet skills
- Must be able to lift 15 to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to walk and stand 90% of work day
- Must be able to operate cleaning machines such as vacuums, etc.
- Experience in working with cleaning chemicals and solutions
- Able to operate scissor lift
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Able to work effectively as a team member as well as independently
- Ability to plan, organize and follow through on assigned duties
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality
- Must be dependable and have good attendance
- Must have valid driver's license and a good driving record
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional cleaning experience
- Experience maintaining turbine powered aircraft
- Cessna Citation 500 series and/or Embraer 135/large aircraft maintenance training and experience
- Experience working in an IS-BAO or equivalent structured work environment
